You hear it all the time, but is it true?

When television was introduced, many media analysts predicted the death of radio. But, as we all know, radio still plays an important role in our everyday life. This is true because radio can be where television cannot, which happens to be just about everywhere.

And the same holds true for print. Unfortunately, the internet can only be where there is a computer. If you are a business that generates the majority of it's business locally, we recommend a mix of printed literature and a web site.

How Printed Materials Can Help Generate the Local Web Traffic You Need

So often we are asked to check out someone's web site, but so seldom do we do it. We pre-judge what a salesperson says about their company without ever checking out their web site.

It's a harsh reality, but we are all busy and often find ourselves judging books by their cover.

In this case printed materials serve as the cover--they are the first impression. When there isn't a cover, we are left to create our own first impressions. And when it is not strong enough nothing happens. We have to be given a reason to visit a web site.

Printed materials can show your prospect what you do in a way that a business card or the spoken word cannot. They bridge the gap between what you say and what your prospect hears. Your prospect is left with an impression painted by your printed materials and not their imagination.

Printed materials that are effectively designed create demand by creating desire. Your prospect is left with the burning desire to learn more. This is where your web site comes in. Only now, they have a reason to visit and are more likely to do so as they are hungry for more information about your product.

Does it Work

For the past year I have been helping a client of mine earn $8,000 per month with an ad using this technique. Last month I offered a free tip that increased his conversion ratio. He made $35,000. Now he refers to me as "buddy".

Quite honestly, the clients of mine that are doing the best in this economy are those that balance print with internet advertising.
